Triple naming during 21 June ceremony

Company delegates and distinguished guests travelled to the excellent Hyundai Samho facilities located on the south-western coast of South Korea for the naming of three newbuildings: VLGC “Tenacity IV” and Aframax sisters “Affinity V” and “Spirit II”. The Roman numerals indicate how many ships in the Transpetrol fleet previously featured the respective names, underlining the company’s extensive history.

With the ships banked side by side, a fine display of synchronous axing by the godmothers was followed by a successful bottle-breaking ceremony on each ship. The company’s greatly respected maritime officers completed the picture.

Midsummer hails the rainy season in this region, but auspiciously the event on 21 June enjoyed fine conditions throughout.

The three ships are slated for delivery between early July and late August 2016. Ensuring that the ships are future-proof, each comes equipped with an integrated, fully compliant ballast water treatment system together with the latest shipboard technology.

We would like to thank all those involved in their construction, delivery and naming.
